[caption id="attachment_1285" align="aligncenter" width="538" caption="A sad lobster and Superman. Superman won."][![toddler Halloween costumes](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/lobster-superman.jpg "Lobster-Superman")](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/lobster-superman.jpg)[/caption] While Superman was a pretty indecisive trick-or-treater when first presented with bowls of various goodies, he got the hang of it by the end of our adventure, knocking on doors himself and saying "Thank you -- bye!" without even being prompted ([video](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRhO7lASJow)). [caption id="attachment_1286" align="aligncenter" width="539" caption=""Trick or treat!""][![parents, toddler trick or treating](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/p1010031b.jpg "trick-or-treating")](http://littlebabylump.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/p1010031b.jpg)[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1287" align="aligncenter" width="539" caption="So much to choose from!"][![toddler trick or treating](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/dsc04178.jpg "trick or treating")](http://littlebabylump.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/dsc04178.jpg)[/caption] Nana and Gran-D even taught Emmett how to appropriately get into the Superman character. Watch the footage below to see Emmett flying and making sound effects like Superman. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQiXGSalFkQ&fs=1&hl=en_US] Quite a step up from [his first Halloween](http://littlebabylump.com/2009/10/31/happy-halloween-from-a-ferocious-blue-monster/), huh? [caption id="attachment_1064" align="aligncenter" width="539" caption="Ferocious Blue Monster"][![Ferocious Blue Monster](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/emmett-the-monster.jpg "Emmett the Monster")](http://littlebabylump.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/emmett-the-monster.jpg)[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1049" align="aligncenter" width="539" caption=""Too Cute to Scare" shirt from Aunt Sara & Uncle Shawn"][!["Too Cute to Scare"](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/dsc00744.jpg "\"Too Cute to Scare\"")](http://littlebabylump.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/dsc00744.jpg)[/caption] [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YtgOWxIT8k&hl=en&fs=1&] For mischeif night last night, I carved a pumpkin, toasted the seeds (which are DELICIOUS) and James built our first fire in the apartment's fireplace. Needless to say it was a nice little fall evening. I'm also pretty darn proud of how well my jackolantern came out. It's an owl! [caption id="attachment_1046" align="aligncenter" width="539" caption="Owl Jackolantern"][![Owl Jackolantern](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/dsc00742.jpg "Owl Jackolantern")](http://littlebabylump.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/dsc00742.jpg)[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1047" align="aligncenter" width="539" caption="James and Emmett cozying up by the fire."][![Fireplace](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/dsc00737.jpg "Fireplace")](http://littlebabylump.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/dsc00737.jpg)[/caption] In past news, Emmett had his 9-month checkup the other week. He was a super champ through the bloodwork. He didn't even make a peep - it was incredible - though he wailed when they gave him his shots. He's now a whopping 20 lbs. 4 oz. (46th percentile) and 30.5 inches "tall" (97th percentile). Again, one of the tallest kids in his class! We had a couple of fun visits this past week. My best friend Niki stayed with us last weekend, and we had a visit from my good friend, Lauren, from high school last Wednesday. More aunts for Emmett! [caption id="attachment_1051" align="aligncenter" width="539" caption="Crazy Aunt Niki - "We're drying our hair!""][![Crazy Aunt Niki](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/dsc007211.jpg "Crazy Aunt Niki")](http://littlebabylump.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/dsc007211.jpg)[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1052" align="aligncenter" width="539" caption="Aunt L"][![Aunt L](https://www.littlebabylump.com/Portals/188884/Images/dsc00735.jpg "Aunt L")](http://littlebabylump.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/dsc00735.jpg)[/caption] I'm also convinced that Emmett is extremely close to saying "mamma." In fact, it sounds like he's already saying it (although he might not exactly know what he's saying)! [Check out this video for evidence](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHvbOdJ55_g). What do you think? **Age Timer:** 9 months, 2 weeks [more](https://www.littlebabylump.com/blog/bid/219509/Happy-Halloween-from-a-Ferocious-Blue-Monster) Topics: [Weekly Updates](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/weekly-updates), [holidays](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/holidays), [video](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/video), [Halloween](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/halloween), [monster](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/monster), [checkup](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/checkup), [costume](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/costume), [visits](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/visits) ## [Martha Stewart Food-Baby Costumes: FAIL!](https://www.littlebabylump.com/blog/bid/219595/Martha-Stewart-Food-Baby-Costumes-FAIL) Posted by [Pamela Vaughan](https://www.littlebabylump.com/author/pamela-vaughan) Oct 7, 2008 12:56:14 PM Okay - what is with the world's fetish with the babies-as-food thing? This is even worse than the [baby shower Cake Wrecks](http://littlebabylump.com/2008/08/15/creepy-pregnant-cake-wrecks/) because now, actual humans are involved. Seriously, this makes me want to stop sharing those food analogies the sites I read use to describe my baby's growing size. Baby Lump is getting too big to be compared to single servings of food anyway, unless I'm planning on chowing down on a whole meatloaf or something. Have a look, and see what I mean .... [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-wj6ppCYM8&hl=en&fs=1] My friend, [Yianni](http://twitter.com/yiannig/statuses/950227490) is right - [Martha](http://www.marthastewart.com/affiliateinfo) should go back to jail for this one. Those poor babies. These are the cruelest baby costumes ever! There's no way Baby Lump's first Halloween will be spent as a lemon meringue pie or a boiled and plated lobster. That apple pie baby looks like she's in a food coma. No wonder "Caesar salad baby" doesn't want to cooperate ... In weekly updates, Baby Lump now weighs two full pounds and measures about 14 inches long (as long as he/she isn't gearing up to be a [Paul Bunyan-type baby](http://littlebabylump.com/2008/10/01/little-baby-lump-the-next-paul-bunyan/)). He/she has also started working on that birthday hairdo and should be growing some cute little baby fuzz by now. According to many Web sites, this week marks the last week in my second trimester, so apparently I'm about two-thirds of the way there. Third trimester, here I come! **Oven Timer: **26 weeks, 1 day [more](https://www.littlebabylump.com/blog/bid/219595/Martha-Stewart-Food-Baby-Costumes-FAIL) Topics: [Weekly Updates](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/weekly-updates), [video](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/video), [Halloween](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/halloween), [Internet Fun](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/internet-fun), [Bizarre](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/bizarre), [Media](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/media), [little baby lump](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/little-baby-lump), [food](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/food), [baby costumes](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/baby-costumes), [26 weeks](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/26-weeks) [All posts](https://www.littlebabylump.com/all) Search ### Subscribe by Email ### [![rss](https://www.littlebabylump.com/hs-fs/hub/188884/file-313297286.png?width=34&height=36&name=file-313297286.png)](http://littlebabylump.com/rss.xml)   RSS Feed ### Recent Posts ### Popular Posts ### Posts by Month - [January 2014 (1)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2014/01) - [December 2013 (2)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2013/12) - [November 2013 (3)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2013/11) - [October 2013 (2)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2013/10) - [September 2013 (1)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2013/09) - [January 2011 (1)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2011/01) - [November 2010 (4)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/11) - [October 2010 (1)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/10) - [September 2010 (2)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/09) - [August 2010 (2)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/08) - [July 2010 (1)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/07) - [June 2010 (2)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/06) - [May 2010 (3)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/05) - [April 2010 (1)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/04) - [March 2010 (1)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/03) - [February 2010 (2)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/02) - [January 2010 (5)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2010/01) - [December 2009 (3)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/12) - [November 2009 (3)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/11) - [October 2009 (5)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/10) - [September 2009 (6)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/09) - [August 2009 (3)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/08) - [July 2009 (4)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/07) - [June 2009 (6)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/06) - [May 2009 (8)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/05) - [April 2009 (6)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/04) - [March 2009 (8)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/03) - [February 2009 (8)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/02) - [January 2009 (7)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2009/01) - [December 2008 (7)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2008/12) - [November 2008 (5)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2008/11) - [October 2008 (7)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2008/10) - [September 2008 (8)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2008/09) - [August 2008 (10)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2008/08) - [July 2008 (4)](https://www.littlebabylump.com/archive/2008/07) [See All](https://www.littlebabylump.com/topic/halloween#)
